 In 1934, Restaurateur Vic “The Trader” Bergeron, embarked on an island adventure to explore the great rums of the world. Upon his return, Vic’s newfound knowledge of quality rum, exotic flavors and genuine love of island culture inspired the creation of the Original Mai Tai in 1944. Following the Mai Tai’s success, Trader Vic’s line of rums spread across the globe, letting rum lovers everywhere experience the spirit of the island at home.
