If Beaujolais had a grand cru classification like Burgundy, Côte du Py would certainly be among them. In fact, it is the most famous vineyard in the entire region. It is a slate hill just outside the cru village of Morgon, where winemaker Jean Paul Brun has one hectare of vines. The wines of the Côte du Py are often the most intense and powerful of Morgon.
