His gamble has paid off well, for this vineyard grows arguably the best Grüner Veltliner and Riesling in California, and has become one of the most renowned vineyards in the region. Edna Valley is the coolest AVA in California, located just 5.4 miles from the Pacific Ocean, whose cooling influence allows for an extended growing season, perfect for Grüner and Riesling.
